Urban water stress caused from unregulated ground water extraction, pollution and misuse, has reached unimaginable proportions in many parts of India. Not only is water availability an issue to contend with, but the quality is also heavily compromised as a result of apathy and mismanagement. Simple water saving technologies (such as, rain water harvesting, use of aerators on taps, drip irrigation, grey water recycling & reuse) if adopted in a large scale, has a potential to save upto 60% of water consumption levels. At a household level, adoption is cost effective, simple and doable.
