Solid waste management has been a recurring and escalating issue in India over the years. Our annual generation of solid waste stands at ~300 million tonnes annually! A number that is projected to grow to ~550 million tonnes by 2050. Cities are struggling to manage this effectively, resulting in public health, land contamination and economic stress. There are waste streams such as e-waste and medical waste which are barely being addressed, although the magnitude of their impact in many ways out-weighs many other types due to their high levels of toxicities.
Again we believe that citizens can and will play a major part in taking the responsibility if they are equipped with the knowledge of the impacts and solutions.
ENSYDE’s waste solutions are designed to address the gaps in waste management. Our key initiatives include – bE-Responsible E-Waste Initiative and Be The Prescription for Change (Management of Expired & Unused Medicines)
