Solid waste management has been a recurring and escalating issue in India over the years. Our annual generation of solid waste stands at ~300 million tonnes annually! A number that is projected to grow to ~550 million tonnes by 2050. Cities are struggling to manage this effectively, resulting in public health, land contamination and economic stress. There are waste streams such as e-waste and medical waste which are barely being addressed, although the magnitude of their impact in many ways out-weighs many other types due to their high levels of toxicities.

Again we believe that citizens can and will play a major part in taking the responsibility if they are equipped with the knowledge of the impacts and solutions.
