Preparation of Project Design Document For 10 Mw Biomass Based Power Plant, Tamil Nadu, (2005-06).

A private power project developer in Tamil Nadu proposed to use biomass residues and rice husks to generate 10 MW power to be supplied to the grid. ENSYDE conducted a detailed assessment of biomass availability and the procurement network. This Project Development Document (PDD)was prepared for Environmental Management and Policy Research Institute (EMPRI), under contract from the Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA). A 2-day training programme was also provided to staff and other project developers in Chennai.

Impact: Over 150,000 tonnes of carbon was reduced.
